Our 2020 started with an office cruise then Dr. Brayer's surprise rooftop birthday party, both in January. This year we played hard THEN worked hard. It was so worth it.
White, bright smiles are generally associated with youthfulness and beauty. As we age, our teeth can change colors and lose their brightness due to age, eating habits, smoking, and even medications. There are many ways to brighten teeth that are safe and effective. Is laser teeth whitening right for you? Let’s find out
Laser teeth whitening is a very effective way to brighten and whiten your teeth without removing any of the tooth’s surface or causing damage to the teeth. After the dentist has protected your gums, he/she will paint a bleaching product on the surface of your teeth. Then a laser or light is shone on the teeth to activate the chemical in the whitening product. The light is intended to speed up the whitening process, and help you achieve brighter, whiter teeth fast.
Advancements in technology have allowed laser teeth whitening to get your teeth whiter faster and easier. Traditional bleaching methods required patients to wear a tray in their mouths, over their teeth over the course of two to three dental visits and numerous treatments at home. Laser whitening can usually be done in one dental appointment and is completed in about 30-90 minutes.
For individuals with minor exterior stains, the best option may be an at-home bleaching kit. This kit includes a tray that has been molded to fit your mouth comfortably while you sleep. Every night before bed, you simply place a thin ribbon of the tooth whitening gel into the tray and wear it while sleeping. Whitening happens gradually, with visible improvements seen within the first one to two weeks. For more difficult stains, the whitening trays can be worn for up to six weeks, ensuring your teeth are as white and bright as possible.
Some stains are not on the outside of the tooth but are buried within the tooth enamel. These stains are impossible to reach with traditional bleaching, laser teeth whitening, or at-home kits that simply resolve exterior stains.
The KöR Whitening System is unique among teeth whitening systems, first by restoring your teeth’s ability to absorb oxygen and allowing the whitening gel to absorb into the tooth enamel to remove deep-set stains and discoloration. KöR Whitening is the most effective tooth whitening system available and has been proven to remove stains that other systems are unable to remove.
At Creating Smiles, our goal is always to improve our service and technology. We are proud to offer laser teeth whitening and the KöR Whitening system into our practice.
