Our 2020 started with an office cruise then Dr. Brayer's surprise rooftop birthday party, both in January. This year we played hard THEN worked hard. It was so worth it.
Lotz of Blessings is a 501c3 non-profit that provides service opportunities for families through local small businesses. Many service projects have a minimum age requirement. The founder of Lotz of Blessings has a main service opportunity that provides weekend snacks to local school students who qualify for free school lunches. Some schools had this service already in place but Heather found additional schools that needed this. Small businesses throughout Pinellas County are drop off locations. Heather picks up the food so that she and her children and other families can fill the bags and deliver them to the schools. Over the summer she planned more opportunities for service including gathering school supplies for local teachers. When students show up to school missing school supplies, teachers often fill the needs out of their own pockets. This year, teachers had enough to worry about. Creating Smiles Dental was added to the list of drop off sites. We collected piles of paper, pens, glue sticks, markers, pencils, etc. Thank you for being so generous in dropping off the needed items. Heather had to come multiple times to gather the donations!
Currently, the charity is collecting items for weekend meals for the students. You can donate time, money, or items for this service project. Click below for the link to the sign up.
