OSHA Training Time

OSHA Training Time

We are always continuing to learn, to grow our practice, and to stay up to date with everything. We only have to do CPR training every other year, but we do it every year anyway. All of our providers get way more than the required number of continuing education credits for our licenses.

The other day, we had a staff training day for OSHA. OSHA stands for Occupational Safety & Health Administration.

So if you are tired of filling our new paperwork every time you come in, we are sorry. But things keep changing, even if you were just here a week ago! For example, did you know that everything potentially dangerous to our health will soon have more understandable universal labeling? It will be easier to understand because it uses images. Even items in the grocery store will have the same labeling that we use in our dental office. Another upgrade is that Under the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals (GHS) the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) has undergone significant change and is now called the Safety Data Sheet (SDS). We do not need to be compliant yet, but we are ahead of schedule and want to learn everything as soon as it is available to us.

We also did other training on privacy for our patients. So we have more forms for that as well. The newest item on your forms is a place to fill out what you would like us to call you. Some people want to be called by more formal names like doctor [last name,] but some want to be called by their first names. We will honor our patients’ wishes! Let us know if we can help you in any other way, we are always improving!
