Dr. Cecilia Perera
In 2004, Dr. Perera graduated Dental School from Venezuela, Universidad Santa Maria. She lived in Tampa for several years, then completed her residency in Periodontics at Case Western Reserve University in Ohio, graduating in 2010. Subsequently, Dr. Perera received her Masters of Science Degree from Case Western Reserve University. She then moved to Tampa and is currently working with the Veteran’s Administration Medical Center and in private practice in the Tampa Bay area.
Dr. Perera became a Diplomate of the American Academy of Periodontology in 2011 and currently performs a variety of periodontal procedures including periodontal surgeries and implant placement.
Dr. Cecilia Perera was born in New Orleans and moved to Canada when she was 5 years old. She lived there for 4-5 years, then moved with her family to Venezuela where she lived for 15 years.
When she is not working, Dr. Perera enjoys listening to music, dance, Zumba and Flamenco. She danced Flamenco in Venezuela for 5-6 years and her teacher was Diana Patricia, the flamenco dancer they wrote the song Macarena for, so she had the opportunity to learn Flamenco from the best! Additionally, Dr. Perera performed in a show dancing Flamenco in a theater in Venezuela for a short period of time in her youth.
