Creating Smiles Dental is one of the sponsors of the Oral Cancer Foundation 5K Walk/Run for Awareness again this year. As in previous years, the race is going to be on Pass-A-Grille Beach. There will be race T-shirts, goodie bags from the sponsors including Creating Smiles Dental, and raffles. Our dentists and hygienists will be on site conducting free oral cancer screenings.

Please join us as we gather to raise awareness for oral cancer.

The OCF Walk/Run for Awareness-West Coast, FL

An Oral Cancer Story

April is Oral Cancer Awareness month. Here is an oral cancer story of a registered dental hygienist and her personal experience with it. In 2001, at age 47, Sandra Boody was diagnosed with stage four, squamous cell carcinoma of a left neck lymph node and the base of her tongue. At stage four, it was inoperable. This was considered an “out-of-the-box” diagnosis, since Sandy had no risk factors. She didn’t smoke or drink alcohol
